The Night Porter.....

So finally got the next installment to my film noir project....

Here is one of the shots from the Poster remake of the movie The Night Porter (1974) Il portiere di notte (original title) that I collaberated on with my MUA Melissa Walsh and my wardrobe stylist Cradelle White who found all the costumes for the cover shot as-well-as the SS uniform which was used in a couple of scenes we also recreated...

Save The Sea........

This past weekend I made my trek out to the Accidental sea (aka... Salton Sea) w/ some amazing clothes from the designer BK Phillips. Which he designed just for this shoot. With the help from my kick ass Wardrobe stylist Cradelle White we put together this idea to mix a sorta night/day wear of clothes and juxtapose it with the apocalyptic remains of the once thriving Salton Sea..

This once play ground of the wealthy is now a wasteland for the the few that remain and a photographic gem for the few that are seeking something that resembles what might happen after a nuclear blast or a catastrophic disaster.

I couldn't wait, so here is a teaser for my show on Dec 17th 2011 which will have the work displayed.........

Thanks to everyone that made this shoot happen...

So I have always wanted to do a fashion story with my dad's 1967 Sunbeam Tiger Mark II on the beach... So I pitch the idea of a girl who is in love with British 60's fashion goes on a road trip to the coast and discovers her new adventurous side.... to my Stylist Cradelle White and she pulled together an amazing wardrobe for the shoot.....

Special thanks to my dad for the use of his car and Cradelle and the restof the crew that came out to help make this shoot happen....

Film Noir....

Lately I have been inspired by a lot of old films from the film Noir, and post WWII era, so I decided to give it a try. So I enlisted the help of the very talented wardrobe stylist Cradelle White and she pulled together the perfect clothes for the the shoot. Here is a teaser from shoot that we did. It was a lot of fun think I am going to pursue this a bit more and work on a few post WWII war films to mix in.. Starting with the 1979 movie The Night Porter.

A moment of serenity and completeness.........

A moment of serenity and completeness.........

I began my love for photography when I was a kid while hanging around my grandfather who was always taking pictures of family events and outings which always brought him happiness to his life. I began to thrive for that moment. The moment of serenity and completeness is achieved. This has been known to happen from time-to-time in my work. Where an idea is brought to a moment of visual depiction generated through life events, a unique location, or a visual emotion of my fantasy world.

Currently the act of collaborating with my team of creative individuals or the subject matter of the shoot has been driving the process to the moment of completeness. Where an idea is brought to a moment of visual depiction. Currently these ideas are being generated through life events, fantasy's that have been triggered whether it is by a piece from a designers collection, a unique location, or a visual emotion of ones fantasy world. Then through the collaboration of my creative team who bring their own flavors to the table and by mixing their areas of expertise to the pot and creating a chain reaction resulting in an explosive visual outcome of the idea. Which is similar to how I  see the creation of food. It is a collaboration of ingredients which each has their own unique flavor but when combined they create a colorful explosion of taste in ones mouth. So, by taking the ingredients of light, emotion, fashion, food, nakedness, sexuality, environment, and the visual change that I am forcing on subject matter by reacting through my lens and pulling it back through my camera sometimes violently mind altering the false reality that was recorded.

The great thing about each idea is that the basic process is the same but the each path to the visual depiction of the idea is always changing with each unique idea.
